Teaching style

The focus throughout my class is fluid movement and steadiness with the emphasis on using our breath as the sole guide to gaining the most from our Yoga.
Moving intuitively through a Vinyasa style practice i demonstrate the importance of the action of surrender and action of strength so students can explore these elements further.
Being a teacher who values the mediative ambiance of Yoga i teach with less words and offer numerous opportunities for students to be fully present with themselves through pranayama or holding postures for longer periods of time.
My sessions are warmly welcoming to all levels and although I teach in a class setting i encourage each person to focus on having an individual experience of their own body power and presence.

Biography

Heading to a yoga studio for the first time i expected to experience an hour of complete relaxation, however I was shocked to discover a stiff body, a thumping heart beat and a world of critical voices in my head; as I continued the practice my mind began to quieten, my breath began to deepen, and my body became strong.
Both on and off the mat I came to understand the importance of being; gentle but determined, understanding but firm and patient but persevering; in all areas of life.

I attained my Yoga Teacher Training in Thailand at Vikasa Yoga taught by dynamic teacher Kosta Miachin. My practice is a mix of intuitive vinyasa and Ashtanga yoga.
